Moneycontrol Data Breach (2017)

Moneycontrol.com, a prominent financial information platform, reportedly experienced a data breach that has put the personal data of over 700,000 users at risk. The breach, which took place around six to seven months prior to being made public, saw details like email addresses, dehashed passwords, country, phone number, date of birth, gender, and address exposed. While the hacker claims to have accessed data of over 40 million users, they are currently offering details of only 700,000 users for sale.
