Dropbox Data Breach (2012)

Dropbox, a cloud-based file hosting and sharing service, announced that it had suffered a data breach. An unauthorized third-party had gained access to certain data stored on its systems, potentially affecting the personal information of over 68 million users. The exposed data included email addresses and hashed passwords. As a preventive measure, Dropbox reset all passwords that had remained unchanged since mid-2012.
