The Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission is investigating a privacy breach by an employee. The commission announced today that an employee accessed 12 injured workers’ records without a justifiable work purpose over a three-year period. The breach was reported to Leslie Galway, the commission’s chief executive and privacy officer on Thursday and then immediately disclosed to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner, according to a statement released late this afternoon. The commission is contacting the workers whose records were accessed.
