TennCare Data Breach (2014)

A woman is accused of mistreating a TennCare recipient, who the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation say was in her care. Brandie Lynn Carver, was first investigated back on January 22nd by TBI special agents, after receiving information from the Department of Human Services. Agents say they found Carver had mistreated a recipient in her care. Including misusing their ATM card, stealing their cell phone, and reporting care for the recipient during several scheduled shifts which further investigation found she was false. The company then terminated Carver's employment. The 32-year-old faces one count of TennCare fraud, one count of identity theft, one count of theft above $1,000, one count abuse of an impaired adult, and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card. Carver has been arrested and booked into Sumner County Jail for an unrelated probation violation.
