Possible unintended exposure of health information: Downtown Public Health Center, March 2013 This posting is to inform you that, on March 7, 2013, a substitute custodian employed by the building owner at Downtown Public Health Center disposed of some clients' protected health information in a way that did not follow proper procedure. After looking into this incident, Public Health Seattle & King County was able to determine the custodian did not dispose of this health information in the following programs: Refugee Screening WIC Needle Exchange Public Health places a very high priority on our patients' privacy and security. Although the department does not believe any client personal health information was seen by others, we are notifying patients who might be affected out of respect for the center's clients.
