Description

Inland Empire Health Plan suffered a possible breach of medical records after an unencrypted desktop computer was stolen from Childrens Eyewear Sight at 11940 Foothill Blvd. The computer was reported stolen in October after burglars ransacked the optometry office, representatives announced Friday in a written release. The computer contained personal identification information and minimal health related information for 1,030 patients, but Social Security numbers were not included in that information, according to an IEHP statement. The computer was password protected, but the data was not encrypted, the statement read.
