GE Capital Retail Bank (GECRB) Data Breach (2013)

We are writing to you because of an incident involving your [Retailer Credit Card] account issued by GE Capital Retail Bank (GECRB). Your personal information that is stored in our systems to allow us to service your credit card account was inappropriately accessed and released outside of GECRB. We are currently investigating this incident and believe that some personal information regarding your account with us, including your name, address, date of birth, home and work phone (if available), mothers maiden name and partial social security number was obtained by an unauthorized individual. You should recently have received a phone call or letter from us regarding this matter and we may have already closed your account. We believe the information was used to complete or attempt fraudulent transactions on your credit card account as a result of this incident.
