CBR Systems (Cord Blood Bank) Data Breach (2010)

The 2010 theft of a company laptop, a hard drive, and a number of unencrypted backup tapes resulted in the exposure of sensitive information. Social security numbers, credit and debit card numbers, driver's license numbers, and dates of birth were contained on one or more of the devices.Cbr Systems reached a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission in early 2013.
