California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Data Breach (2013)

on August 23, 2013 the boards Fairfield office was burglarized in a desktop computer was stolen. The burglary was reported to local law enforcement authorities. Through an investigation it was determined that the computer may have contained a document with personal information of individuals who participated as models for applicants who were taking cosmetology, barbering, manicure, esthetician, or electrology exam.the document contained names, dates of birth, and company drivers license numbers.
